Programming

Carol agreed to take over chairing the Wheatleigh event and received the contact information from Hilda.

Gene German, the Robert G. Tobin Professor Emeritus of Food Marketing, will speak on Sunday, May 22 at 5:00. The title of the talk is "Your future supermarket: ShopRite, WalMart or the Internet?" A site is still needed. People agreed to check soon on schools (Carl and Kathy), George Gellert's home (Phil), Arrowhead and Taggert House. Peolple should get in touch with Hilda with results. The cost for the event will be $5 for members and their guests and $10 for nonmembers.

Andy Noel, the Cornell Athletic Director, will be the speaker for the Annual Meeting on August 28 at The Lenox Club. Toby will work with him on accommodations. The menu and price will be similar to last year. A sports theme is possible for decorations.

Business

Janice will be in San Francisco for April, May and June, but will still be able to maintain her correspondence.

The board agreed to purchase a small microphone for speaking events, should we find one for around $200. Carl, Kathy, and Toby agreed to look into locating systems.

The CAAAN reports were submitted to Cornell. We contacted 10 of the roughly 20 area applicants. Most were from Berkshire School. Michael Maiks and Christine Schaeffer were helpful members of the committee. Minutes of the February 15 board meeting were approved.

News from Campus

Michelle Thevenin, the new Director of the Northeast office, will probably visit the Berkshires soon, probably for the Gene German talk. The hockey team won the ECAC and are headed to the NCAA tournament. See the Cornell webpage for viewing options. Hats are still available for sale. Dragon Day was March 18th - photos are online.

Reunion for classes ending in 0 and 5 is June 9 - 12.

The next board meeting will be Thursday, May 5 at 7:00 at Toby Levine's house.

Respectfully submitted,
Kathy Erickson
Secretary
