Cornell Club of the Berkshires

The grand and historic Lenox Club is the site of our 2005 Annual Meeting, Sunday, Aug. 28, when Cornellians will reconnect with old friends and make some new. This is a rare opportunity to experience the private Lenox Club, favored by owners of the famed Berkshire Cottages built during America’s Gilded Age. From the lovely veranda, we can linger over brunch and enjoy the vast expanse of lawns.

Our featured speaker will be Andy Noel, Director of Athletics and Physical Education at Cornell, who will discuss the notable achievements of the Big Red teams. He leads one of the broadest athletics programs in the nation, one that includes 36 intercollegiate programs as well as intramural, recreation, physical education, and wellness programs.

Since becoming director, Andy Noel has continued to hire top coaches and has also successfully upgraded department facilities (including renovating Schoellkopf Hall and building the Friedman Wrestling Center). Andy’s position was endowed in December 2003 by Jack ’58 and Diane ’61 Meakem (who are members of the Cornell Club of the Berkshires) and Scott Smith ’61.

Plan to join us for a day of food, fun and getting to know each other better.
