About Our Club

The purpose of our club is to bring Cornellians together for social and intellectual events and to interest young people in the community in attending Cornell.

The Cornell Club of the Berkshires has been active since 2002, when Toby Klevan Levine '64 and Hilda Lichtenstein Levine '66 and other Cornellians in the Berkshires decided to hold an informal event to determine the level of interest. They planned a terrific BBQ in August 2002 at Nancy and Tom Clark's in Old Chatham, New York, with almost 200 attendees. Thus was launched a year-long effort to form a formal Cornell Club of the Berkshires, which held its first Annual Meeting and elections and adoption of the Constitution and Bylaws August 24, 2003, again at Nancy and Tom Clarks' Old Sheepherding Company in Old Chatham.

Want to get involved?
Want to help plan an event for our Cornell alums?

In addition to our annual summer get-together, we arrange several additional events through the year to bring together Cornellians in the area for some activity of mutual interest. Sonja Watkins Kelly, from the Alumni Affairs office of Cornell University, is extremely helpful in arranging speakers for such events.

If you are interested in serving on this committee, please contact Hilda Lichtenstein Levine '66 at or by phone at (413) 644-9605.

As stated in our Club's by-laws, the role of the Program Committee “shall be to plan, arrange, and conduct the activities of the Club for the purpose of promoting and carrying out the aims of the Club and for the promotion and betterment of Cornell University.”
